Bachelor of Biotechnology Industry (Hons) The Bachelor of Biotechnology Industry is a three-years program of 119 credit hours and students can choose from various areas of specialization, i.e. marine biotechnology, plant biotechnology and microbiology in their final year. Similar to the diploma course, the Bachelor program also applies interactive approach. Industrial training will place students at various public or private institutions over a duration of twelve weeks.
Students will also be required to undertake a research project to enable them to apply theories learned and to provide them the first-hand experience on research and development. Entry Requirement Apart from public and academic career opportunities, graduates now have ample opportunities within the private sectors in the field of agriculture, neutraceutical, food production and various related fields.
Among the career options are to work as Molecular Biologist, Genetic Engineer, Protein Engineer, Geneticist, Biochemist, Microbiologist, Cell Biologist, Tissue Culturist, Bioinformatician, Food Scientist, Bioprocess Engineer, Botanist, Zoologist, etc. The ultimate goal of the program however, is to produce graduates who are capable of venturing into bio-entrepreneurship.
