Overview

  1. Offers a curriculum which is designed to give student a through understanding of the basic laws of science and to simultaneously stimulate and develop innovative thinking, professional attitude, economic judgement, and environment consciousness
  2. Prepare graduates who possess a command of engineering knowledge and hands-on skills required to undertake supervision of a team and troubleshooting in both operation and maintenance
  3. Students are required to attach in industry to apply theory into the real engineering problem.

Introduction to Engineering Drawing – introduces and prepares students for drafting careers in modern, technology-intensive industry and introduces students for technical drafting.

This course focuses on conventional machining processes and usages of welding machine, drilling machine and fitting tools and measuring equipments.

Computer Programming & Application

The course aims to expose students with the fundamental knowledge of MATLAB and Excel spread sheet programming software, a mathematical programming environment, and learn generic programming technique as well as MATLAB and Excel spread sheet specific programming skills.

This course introduces the concept of forces, moment, principles of equilibrium for both particles and rigid bodies, and its application of structures and frameworks analyses as well as other engineering works.

Fundamental development of the principles and concepts of thermodynamics. Review of the first and second laws. Criteria of equilibrium. Chemical equilibrium. Availability and irreversibility. Combustion and reacting flow. Heat mass transfer and chemistry in combustion. Analysis of ideal and actual processes involved combustion engines and Refrigeration Systems. Optimization of particular cycles for criteria such as maximum performance and efficiency, and minimum pollution. The sources of energy for combustion engines such as fuels, oxidants and propellants. This course deals with the study of relative motion between or among the various parts of a machine and forces which act on them. It forms and integral part between dynamics and machine design. It also enforces the knowledge in constructing free body diagram, principles of statics and dynamics.

This course introduces students to the CNC and CAM application environment in various areas. Students will learn the principles, theory, functions & applications of CAM through CAM programming, design & simulations. Students will also be exposed to several hands-on projects in the laboratory.

The course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to apply the principle of mechanical engineering design, load and stress analysis and failure analysis for basic machine elements such as shaft, spring and welding joint.

Salary Range in industries such as automotive, manufacturing, oil and gas, and consultancy and others is RM 1500 – RM 2200
