Master of Life Science by Research

MQA/PA 2859

Life sciences refer to the scientific study of the living world as a whole, a new synthesis of several traditional scientific disciplines including biology, genetics, immunology, microbiology and newer, more specialized areas of study such as biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, tissue engineering, biostatistics, bioinformatics, etc. Broadly speaking, life sciences include any study or research discipline that contributes to the understanding of life processes.

This programme aims to generate postgraduates with innovative research skills and strong management and entrepreneurial capabilities in life sciences. This is in line with the government’s effort to generate a highly-knowledgeable human capital that will meet the growing needs in the academic world as well as in the life science-based industries. This can serve as a catalyst to research and innovation, which in turn will accelerate economic growth.
