Programme Description
The Master of Science (Computing) at Universiti Selangor (UNISEL) is a rigorous, research-oriented programme designed to provide comprehensive research training and foster the development of independent research skills for academics, professionals, and practitioners in computer science, information technology, and related disciplines.
This programme offers an innovative platform for scholars to engage in innovative research, develop practical and technological solutions, and contribute significantly to the academic and professional computing communities. With its interdisciplinary approach, the MSc (Computing) equips candidates with research capabilities, critical problem-solving skills, and ethical leadership, enabling them to excel in academia, the tech industry, and governmental roles.
- In-depth exploration of computing disciplines, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Networking, Internet of Things (IoT), Human-Computer Interaction, and Cloud Computing.

- Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Networking, Internet of Things (IoT), Human-Computer Interaction, Cloud Computing, and other emerging fields in computing.
- A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 3.00, as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
- A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting a CGPA of 3.00 can be accepted subject to a thorough rigorous assessment as determined by the HEP; OR
- A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Non-Computing fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted subject to a thorough rigorous assessment as determined by the HEP to identify the appropriate prerequisite courses equivalent to their prior experience in the Computing or related fields; OR
- A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Non-Computing fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted subject to appropriate prerequisite courses; OR
- Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields recognised by the Government of Malaysia must fulfil the requirement on item i or ii.
- English competency requirement (International Student)
- Achieve a minimum score of 6.0 in the IELTS or equivalent. If a student does not meet this requirement, the HEP must offer English proficiency courses to ensure that the student’s proficiency is sufficient to meet the needs of the programme.
